Welcome to Englewood

The city of Englewood, located south of Denver, has beginnings traced to gold. In the mid 1800’s, prospectors on their way to California stopped in Colorado to pan its streams, and when gold was found in the South Platte River, a Placer Camp was established in an area that would eventually become Englewood. This Placer Camp found more gold than had previously been found in all other previous prospecting, and thus the beginning of the “Pikes Peak or Bust” gold rush of 1859 began. Today, Englewood boats 244 acres of developed parks that provide a wide variety of attractions and amenities that include Belleview Park and the Englewood Farm & Train, RiverRun Trailhead, athletic fields, recreational water amenities, urban trails, a dog park and a community garden. Englewood, the fourth most populous city in Arapahoe County with only 7 square miles and approximately 35,000 residents, offers a small town atmosphere with all the amenities of a big city nearby.
